CaltrainTrax is designed as a simple utility app. The app does not require an account, does not ask for your location, and does not use third-party advertising or tracking.

Information the app stores on your device

The app may store preferences such as selected theme, favorite stations, or other app settings locally on your device. This information is used to make the app work the way you expect and is not sold.

Information sent to the backend

When the app requests train, station, alert, schedule, or trip-planning data, the backend receives normal technical request information such as request path, status, timing, IP address, and user-agent. This information is used for reliability, security, abuse prevention, and debugging.

Location data

CaltrainTrax does not request or collect your device location. Map features are based on Caltrain stations, train locations, and schedule data rather than your personal location.

Transit data

CaltrainTrax uses public transit feeds and schedule data. Realtime arrival times, train locations, and alerts can be delayed, incomplete, inaccurate, or unavailable.
